Tout Pour la Musique Contemporaine (TPMC), which has been engaged in exploring contemporary expression of erhu music, is an international partner of Taiwan Music Institute in the Master, Disciple, and Partner Project. Through the project, composers, musicians, and international partners are paired by TMI to work with each other in music. In this concert, three erhu compositions hatched through the joint effort of TMI and TPMC will be premiered: one is written by Taiwanese composer Lin Wei-chieh, one by French composer Christian Eloy, and one by Chinese-expatriate Wang Ying, who is currently based in Germany. Other premieres include a trio for erhu, accordion and piano by Taiwanese composer Chen Heng; and a new piece mixing piano and electronic music by Taiwanese composer Chen Cheng-wen.
