Adapted from and extrapolating on a light family comedy about a conflict between a woman and her mother-in-law, "The Maze of Memories" also includes contemplations on forgetting, chasing memories, and regretting them. Through mind-blowing modern sets created with multimedia imagery, along with contemporary gimmicks like tarot cards and crystal balls, this combination of traditional and modern plays out as a universal light comedy performed with refreshing audacity. Not only is the troupe's performance nominated, the lead actresses Tang Mei-yun and Xiao Mi were also nominated for Best Performer in the 27th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music. Playing son and mother respectively, together with Xu Xiu-nian as the daughter-in-law, they put on an intoxicating performance that you can see, hear, and feel. Opening with tales from the "Generals of the Yang Family" before proceeding to the in-law relationship, the show starts off with a show of martial skills and then continues with the heartwarming family tale, reflecting the artistic freedom of contemporary theater.
